The nominations are in for this year’s Silmaril Awards of the Most Magnificent Dragon! Of course, none of these dragons are nearly as majestic or fierce as me, Smaug. But good job trying. Here are the top five dragons you chose:

Shardas from Dragon Slippers
Shardas is a wise dragon with an eye for beautiful things; he collects stained glass windows as his hoard! Yet he is also willing to use his teeth and claws to fight for those whom he loves.

Darkstalker from Wings of Fire
From the official Wings of Fire wiki (yes, there is one!): Darkstalker was an ancient NightWing-IceWing hybrid and one of the three main protagonists of Darkstalker. The most powerful dragon in Pyrrhian history, Darkstalker was hatched with animus magic, mind-reading, and prophetic powers on the brightest night, the event strengthening the latter two abilities. He was in a relationship with Clearsight until she and Fathom were forced to trap him beneath Agate Mountain by using an enchanted bracelet that put him into a deep sleep for many centuries.

Meenore from A Tale of Two Castles
This dragon is apparently a detective. Who ever thought of having a dragon Sherlock Holmes?! But is Meenore magnificent? Only you can decide!

Temeraire from His Majesty’s Dragon
According to the Temeraire wiki, Temeraire is a Celestial dragon, which means he is highly intelligent. He is the companion of Captain William Laurence, and they are both the main POV characters of the Temeraire series.

Seryu from Six Crimson Cranes
This magnificent dragon is based on the legend of Seryuu, an eastern blue dragon who can supposedly shapeshift into the form of a human.
